Manual Transmissions

We access, repair and replace vehicle transmissions and clutches to the highest possible standards so you can be confident that our specialist team will ensure your vehicle receives a service that’s simply second to none. Our knowledgeable team will provide information on matters relating to technical services, delivery, fitting and accounts.

A manual transmission requires the use of a clutch pedal. Moving the clutch pedal into position disengages the clutch mechanism that is located between the engine and the transmission. Pressing down on the clutch pedal stops power going from the engine to the transmission so you can change gears.

The driver presses down on the clutch pedal to change gears and moves the shifter to the desired gear and then releases the clutch pedal to re-engage the power from the engine to the transmission. Learning to drive a manual gearbox can take some practice. Engage the clutch pedal too fast and the engine will stall; engage the clutch pedal too slow and it can cause premature wear.
